METRO Men’s Football is back in 2025!
After four years without any senior teams at the club, the Tamborine Mountain Eagles are back on the South Coast Community stage.
With a combination of talent and experience, the Eagles’ Metro Men’s team will compete in Division Three of the South Coast Metro competition.
The men will play on Wednesday evenings in a compelling competition that includes Coomera, Mudgeeraba, Nerang, Ormeau, Pacific Pines, Pimpama, Runaway Bay, as well as Scenic Rim rivals, Canungra.
The team consists of Tamborine Mountain locals from all walks of life, who have all come together through a shared love of football.
From fresh high school graduates and university students, to full-time nine-to-fivers, fathers, business owners, former Eagles Juniors, and club coaches.
Some have lived on the mountain their entire lives, and others just moved here in January. Despite their differences, they will all be wearing green and blue in 2025.
The Metro Men hosted two preseason friendly games as they looked to challenge themselves ahead of the new season.
While some of the boys are sharp from playing U18s JPL football in recent years, others are dusting off decade-old football boots and returning to the field with strapping tape.
They were outmatched by Pimpama’s Division Two side, who finished second in their competition last year.
A strong start saw the Eagles enter the break trailing 3-2, but a difficult second half saw the visitors win 7-2.
The following week, Tamborine Mountain hosted an experienced Canungra Owls side in the Scenic Rim Derby, falling 3-1 in a hard-fought and spirited match on Tamborine Mountain.
With the season officially started on March 12 (pending delays due to Cyclone Alfred), get down to Long Road Sports Centre on Wednesday nights and support the Eagles’ Senior Men.
