Pie drive to help clubs and TMSA

Alick Kilsby is many things, and at the top of the list is ‘driven’.

Recently elected as president of Tamborine Mountain Sports Association, Alick is taking up the challenge to make sport more affordable for mountain residents – especially for families.

To raise funds for the sports ground’s operating costs, TMSA is running a pie drive throughout April, featuring some of the most popular flavours of Scenic Rim based Gisler’s Pies.

“The fundraising this year will go towards TMSA’s operating costs and getting out of the red, but in future years the new committee hopes that it will help to reduce fees that we charge the clubs to use the grounds, and that saving will be passed on to local families,” Alick said.

Under a fundraising arrangement with Gisler’s Pies, five dollars from every pie sold through the pie drive will go to TMSA.

Alick is aiming to sell 2000 pies and raise $10,000 for the local sports ground.

Order forms will be sent to clubs and available on TMSA’s social media, as well as featured in this edition.

“One of the biggest problems, plaguing the sports association is the fact that TMSA have to cover the operating costs for the facility with very limited means for raising funds.”

“The committee wants to reduce the fees of the clubs by bringing in external revenue, and that’s what this is all about.

“We want to lower the fees for the members here as much as we possibly can.”
