A table made with heart for the Botanic Gardens

By Geoff Hurling

The volunteers at the Tamborine Mountain Regional Botanic Gardens have recently received a wonderful and very practical gift—a specially made table, generously built by the Tamborine Mountain Men’s Shed.

The table was made specifically with the needs of the volunteers in mind. Like the volunteers it is strong, practical and built to last.

The Botanic Gardens are a very special part of the Tamborine Mountain community. They are developed and maintained by volunteers who give their time each week to planting, pruning, weeding, mulching, propagating, building and maintaining the many different areas of the Gardens.

The volunteers at the Men’s Shed put time, skill and care into creating something specifically for the volunteers.

It is a wonderful example of community organisations supporting one another and recognising the enormous contribution made by volunteers.

Every Thursday morning, volunteers gather at the Gardens to get stuck into the work. By lunchtime, there is always plenty achieved, and the Gardens continue to benefit from their dedication.

On behalf of the volunteers at the Tamborine Mountain Regional Botanic Gardens, thank you to Warren Anderson from the Men’s Shed in making this possible.

Your generosity is greatly appreciated and will be enjoyed by many volunteers for years to come.

It is a lovely reminder that when community groups work together, even a simple table can become something much more meaningful – a lasting contribution to a place cared for by people who give their time freely to make Tamborine Mountain a better and more beautiful place.
