Start your engines Tamborine locals, because the 2024 Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride (DGR) is coming to the mountain Sunday May 19.
Focused on bringing the community together and encouraging social connection, the ride will include over fifty riders dressed in dapper and vintage clothing on classic motorcycles.
Together with Movember, the DGR is committed to raising awareness of prostate cancer and helping people in the community build stronger connections, as well as advocate for mental health. Founded in Sydney by Mark Hawwa, the concept for a ‘dapper ride’ originated from the TV series Mad Men’s Don Draper riding a motorcycle in his finest 1960s tweed suit.
Keeping in line with the classic theme, riders must have a vintage designed motorcycle and dress in their most stylish, old-school outfit.
These bikes include Café Racers, Bobbers, Classics, Trackers, Scramblers, Old School Choppers, Modern Classics, Sidecars, Classic Shooters, Modern Classics, Electrics and Brat Styled motorcycles. The themed ride encourages motorcycle enthusiasts to build a community with their shared interest and raise awareness for men’s mental health and prostate cancer.
Over 700 local communities across 100 countries will participate in the ride and fundraise for the men in their lives this May 19.
Glenn Harrison, Tracey Harrison-Hill and Ali Saoirse are excited to co-host the Tambourine Mountain DGR.
