Tamborine Tumbler Laundromat has been open just under a month, and locals are already making the most of its large machines, convenient features, and central location.
Owner Scott Carter said the community response had been strong since day one.
“The first four days we were open were really busy, which was awesome,” he said.
“People are still learning about the fact that it’s open.”
Located at Shop 9, 9–13 Main Western Road, Tamborine Mountain, the laundromat offers commercial-grade washers and dryers, an easy-to-use payment kiosk, and modern conveniences.
“They can pay for up to four machines at once with the Tangerpay system,” Mr Carter said.
“Plus, they can opt in to receive an SMS when the machine finishes, so they know it’s ready for collection.”
The laundromat includes one washer and one dryer specifically for pet bedding.
All machines are thoroughly cleaned every day; however, a sanitation station is available for customers who wish to wipe down machines before or after use.
Five of the washing machines include built-in detergent, softener, and optional pre-wash or colour-safe bleach, while two others are available for customers who prefer to use their own products.
“You don’t have to bring in detergent. Most people are using the machines with liquids included because it’s handy,” Mr Carter said.
Customers can handle big laundry loads fast with 18kg and 27kg washers, and 21kg and 34kg dryers.
“Washing day, when you’re doing it at home, becomes a whole day,” he said.
“Whereas here, you can wash it, dry it, and be done in an hour and a half.”
Tamborine Tumbler Laundromat is open daily from 6am to 10pm.
