The popularity of Tamborine Mountain’s public piano has led to a second one being added.
Music lovers will now be able to hone their talents outside the Zamia Theatre.
The new piano was donated by Kelvin Smith and his family, and an opening ceremony was held with members of Tamborine Mountain Arts Collective, which provided public liability for it, and Tamborine Mountain Little Theatre.
Andrew Heading-Knight and George Valenti christened the piano, playing for the public.
The first piano is located next to IGA on the mountain.
Ludek Nemecek, who has been the driving force behind the public pianos, said the new one is in very good condition and looks brand new.
“There was a beautiful gallery of people singing so it was very engaging and then we opened the doors to the theatre and the music night started inside.
“I hope we will find a suitable place for a third piano which I’d like to see on Gallery Walk,” he said.
Ludek said each piano has a QR code on it where a donation can be sent to cover the costs of tuning and maintenance.
