THE September guest speaker for Probus was a long term mountain resident, Mary Williams.
After many years in the education system she has accumulated extensive knowledge and wisdom for teaching and supporting people to unlock their learning and thinking potential and to improve their cognitive, emotional and problem-solving skills.
She provided our members with much thought provoking information on building our brains to function more efficiently in our golden years and to help ward off dementia, Alzheimer’s and other degenerative mental issues.
The six pillars of mental health shared by Mary are:
Manage your stress,
Eat a healthy (plant based) diet,
Exercise regularly,
Get enough sleep,
Challenge your brain.
Nurture social contacts.
Based on the many questions from members, it was obvious this is a subject of great interest, and was very well presented by Mary in a professional and easy to understand manner.
If any guys out there are looking to help improve their cognitive abilities, why not join our club to see what we have to offer?
