Cycles in Nature

Zen Water Meditation

TANTRIC yoga is very connected to the Cycles of nature.

The movement of the sun, the phases of the moon, the seasons and the movement of the planets around the sun.

The same energy that moves planets, the tides and the unfurling of fresh new leaves in Springtime also moves through us.

Cycles occur within all of creation. What happens on the earth happens in the heavens and inside of man. Everything is a reflection of everything else.

Some cycles last for one month, like the cycle of the moon, while others only occur once every 30 years, meaning that you will only change in that aspect of your being or life twice within a single lifetime (a Saturn return).

Each part of creation has its unique rhythm and therefore completes different cycles at different timing.

Cycles are literally everywhere and occur in everything.

This is not a belief but an objective, observable fact.

As students of yoga, as we develop our powers of observation and feeling and we can begin seeing the more hidden and subtle cycles at work all around and within us. How things repeat within our lives: people, events, or circumstances.

We can react, resist and try to stop these cycles or we can learn to understand the natural rhythm of these events and surrender to their natural flow.

Yoga helps us realise that we are part of a greater whole, and life is even easier if we tune ourselves to these natural cycles.
