The club Championships are the pinnacle Katy Hewitt’s year.
This year was the tenth year in a row that the golfer has taken home the women’s overall club championship title.
“It’s the big one, the main event of the year,” said Katy.
“The Club Championships and the King and Queen of the mountain are the only competitions that the people who have the lowest score on the day can win – because there is no handicap system for those competitions.”
Katy took up golf as an adult, and it has been a passion for her ever since.
Her partner bought her a membership to the Tamborine Mountain Golf Club 20 years ago and she has been hooked ever since – playing and volunteering.
Club captain Peter Arnesen congratulated the groundskeeper on the presentation of the course.
“Today was certainly the best presentation of the course in the last few years,” he said.
The competition was held over three Saturdays, with the number of strokes accumulated to gain a final score.
