Tamborine Mountain Psychology is teaming up with Scenic Rim Regional Council as part of its Be Healthy and Active Program. Local psychologist Nev Jones is delivering a series of “Managing Stress with Nature” workshops which are free of charge to mountain residents.

The workshop draws on research regarding the health benefits of exercise, mindfulness, nature and socialising. They are delivered outdoors in a casual and friendly environment.

When/where are the workshops?

Workshops will be delivered on Sunday 07 July and Sunday 04 August from 8am to 12pm. Location will be at the Knoll section of Tamborine National Park.

What can I expect in the workshop?

The first hour will involve a group discussion about stress theory. From there, we will complete the Knoll bushwalk over about 2 hours. This will involve some stress management skills training activities. We will then finish up with a morning tea for all involved.

What are the prerequisites for participating?

Adults and teenagers welcome. Must be able to complete the 3km Knoll bushwalk. Must declare medical conditions that may affect ability to complete the walk.

Do I need to have a mental health condition to participate?

Absolutely not! This workshop is not about treating psychological injury. It is simply about making time to care for ourselves- everyone can benefit from this!

What should I bring?

Just bring comfortable walking shoes and a water bottle. Dress appropriately as it can be quite cold. Tea, coffee, morning tea, notebooks and pens are all provided.

How do I nominate?
