We were fortunate enough to have Dan Sullivan, owner and Executive Chairman of the Board of Collette, come all the way over from Rhode Island in the States to join us on March 20.
Collette is a US based company that have been offering a range of global touring options for over 100 years. Their trips are well researched, and they pride themselves in offering excellent service to their clients who come back time and time again. Many of their departures have a maximum 24 guests, so travellers enjoy exclusive benefits when travelling with a small group.
Dan visited Travelling Places to meet our team here and to give a fascinating presentation at the local Probus club. We learnt all about the history of Collette, which began in 1918 and has remained under his family’s helm since 1962. He also spoke of the ethos which drives their business; an approach which puts travellers first, and that aims to bring you closer to the unique cultures and communities of the world. Journeys include staying in unique smaller hotels, local guides that share their intimate knowledge of the region and secret insider tips on places or interest or restaurants to enjoy. You benefit from the decades of experience they have in the regions you travel to.
Samantha Tamba, our delightful local Collette representative spoke on the wide range of wonderful tours and experiences that they offer. Everything from rail tours through the Swiss Alps, to African Safaris, to enriching cultural deep dives through Turkey, and much more! It was lovely to get a clear sense of the passion that drives this company, and to learn more about their style of travel.
While Collette has a long history and diverse program of tours which span the world over, and are a household name for many overseas, they are a relatively new option to enter the Australian market. Over the last few years, we have had a number of clients travel with Collette and have come back with glowing remarks. I travelled through Tuscany with Collette in November last year on one of their Spotlight tours and have hardly stopped thinking about it since (The cheese! The Wine! The history!). We were based in one hotel throughout and enjoyed a diverse range of day trips to nearby villages soaking up the quintessential Italian atmosphere.
We are delighted to announce an exclusive collaborative offer from Travelling Places and Collette on any bookings made before April 30. Any tours booked and deposited by this date will receive a further $100 discount on the cost of your chosen tour, as well as a further $150 per person credit to go towards any tour add on- whether that be pre-paying gratuities, optional excursions, or similar! We have brochures that tell you more about the exotic destinations that Collette explore.
