Tawny Frogmouth Nest – Podargus strigoides, garden, Eagle Heights.
I filmed the nest two days before I took the photo in November 2020, when there were two nestlings.
From the sublime, think willie wagtail, spectacled monarch, brown gerygone nests, to the ridiculous – adult and young in a truly rudimentary construction.
I have sighted, filmed and photographed the species for years, but had never seen a nest.
