
Tamborine Mountain Community Care Association (TMCCA) is a not-for-profit, non-government organisation overseen by an elected Management Committee with staff and volunteers coordinating and delivering services.
TMCCA was established in 1992 to provide care for senior residents of Tamborine Mountain, who choose to continue living independently in their own homes.
TMCCA provides services to eligible clients (65 years and older) and is funded by the Australian Federal Government, Dept. of Health & Ageing (DoHA), under the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP), via My Aged Care.
In addition, TMCCA accepts donations from individuals/groups and has also been successful in obtaining a number of grants from other organisations including the Gambling Community Benefit Fund.
The CHSP funded services include:
Social Support Group – Socialisation and activities provided at TMCCA office located at 42, Southport Avenue, Tamborine Mountain.
· Friday Friendship Social Group (weekly: 10 am – 2 pm). Booking required. $10.
· Chair Yoga (Tuesdays and Wednesdays: 8.45 am – 9.45am). Booking preferred. $5.
. Wednesday Outing Bus (first Wednesday of month). Booking required. Variable fee.
. Coffee Club (second Wednesday of month: 10.30am – 12.30pm). Booking required. Gold Coin donation.
. Movie Afternoon (third Wednesday of month: 12:30 – 2.30pm). Gold Coin donation.
. Table Tennis (every Thursday: 12.30 – 2.30pm). Gold coin donation.
. Carers Morning Tea (fourth Wednesday of month: 10.30am – 12.30pm). Gold Coin donation.
Social Support – Individual
Assistance in various ways which include grocery shopping and visiting.
Transport
. Local Thursday Shuttle Bus. Pickup and drop off at residential address. Booking required. $10 return.
. Tuesday Coast Bus to Helensvale / Burleigh / Runaway Bay. Pickup and drop off at residential address.
Booking required. $15 return.
. Individual volunteer drivers for client transport to medical and health appointments (local, Brisbane,
Beaudesert, Gold Coast). Charges vary, based on destination.
Podiatry
A professional Podiatrist is engaged to provide foot care to clients once in six weeks.
To be eligible for subsidised services you must be assessed by My Aged Care (1800 200 422).
