Pink-tongued Skink – Cyclodomorphus gerrardii, The Wild Garden, North Tamborine.
The pink-tongued skink occurs in coastal eastern Australia, ranging from Springwood in New South Wales to the Cairns region in Queensland.
Its colour and pattern resemble the closely related blue-tongued skink.
I filmed a specimen which was brown, a rarity, in the same location within a few days.
All but two of my sightings of a pink-tongued, including in the rainforest at night, have been the mottled colour of the one in the video frame.
The skink can attain a length of 45 cm.
