Net-casting spider – Menneus superciliosus, Palm Grove National Park.
As with case moth larvae, so with net-casting spiders, both are master builders.
This is the fourth species of net-casting spider I have filmed on the mountain.
The green on the abdomen is not always present.
The spider tends to be nocturnal and is found in Queensland and New South Wales. There is scant general information online about the species.
Note the position of the penultimate pair of legs. They are holding the support structure in place which apparently extends the horizontal plane of the net.
