Locals came together to raise awareness about disaster preparedness at a Queensland Government community event held on March 16 at the Tamborine Mountain Library.
The event aimed to promote disaster management strategies and help residents better prepare for future severe weather events.
A range of organisations participated, including the Queensland Police Service, which provided information on Digital ID, Zoe’s First Aid Training and the Tamborine Mountain Lions, who hosted a sausage sizzle.
Tamborine Mountain Lions Social Media Officer Linda Galbraith said the event played a vital role in highlighting available community resources and educating residents on how to respond during natural disasters.
“The more times the message is presented to the community, the better prepared people will be,” she said.
Linda also encouraged locals to build their knowledge of disaster preparedness and maintain strong community connections for support during emergencies.
