The Tamborine Mountain Little Theatre has just finished their most successful production in recent memory.
Urinetown the Musical, written by Greg Kotis and Mark Hollman, and directed by Julie Smith is the first musical the TMLT has produced in some time, and it showed!
Shows were booked out very quickly and completely, and the audience feedback was enthusiastic and positive.
Julie Smith gathered together a diverse group of actors, musicians, and technicians to create a musical event that was quality, a commentary, and completely enjoyable.
The company worked as a cohesive group and supported each other through the entire process, and we are grateful for all those who gave us help in any way.

Full of wonderful complex harmonies, choreography, humour, excellent casting and even a dash of social issues, you will thoroughly enjoy TMLT’s 1st musical production immensely.
Clever use of projected backdrops, even had the audience shed a tear or two.
The mix of ages and experience has been perfectly blended to create a very slick show.
The musicians on their piano, saxophone, clarinet, guitars and drums supported the performers perfectly.

As a group, we are delighted with the reaction from the community and very grateful for the support of all those who attended, over 700 people from the community and surrounds attended over 8 sellout shows- we are beyond happy to with this response.
The TMLT prides itself on providing quality theatre and contributing in a positive manner to the Arts on the mountain, and we are privileged to be able to share our passion with such a diverse community.
The TMLT does three productions a year and our second play for this year has been cast, and begins rehearsals this week.
We open ‘A Week in Serenity’ by Georgie Wallace, and directed by Deborah Joy Sykes on July 17 and close on August 1.
