Tamborine Mountain is set to ring in Christmas in spectacular fashion this year with a brand new community event that promises something for young and old.
The Tamborine Mountain Chamber of Chamber is hosting its inaugural Christmas Carols event at Cauldron Distillery on Sunday December 6 kicking off at 3pm with carols starting at 5pm.
The free community celebration will feature an appearance from Santa complete with photo opportunities for the young and young at heart, as well as plenty of festive entertainment, food trucks and market stalls.
The evening will culminate with a spectacular fireworks display to light up the night sky.
“We want to make it a spectacular carols event with high-quality performers, a professional sound production crew and lighting,” Chamber of Commerce Secretary Joolz Bruhn said.
The event will showcase local talent, with the Tamborine Mountain Orchestra performing alongside choirs from the Tamborine State High School and Primary School.
“We were inundated with people wanting to perform,” Ms Bruhn said.
“Everyone performing is from the local community, ensuring it will be a very inclusive community event.”
She said the Chamber of Commerce is now looking for sponsors to help run the event, which will be free to attend.
“The Chamber hope it will become an annual event that will only get bigger and better and one the community can look forward to,” Ms Bruhn said.
