OVER 250 people enjoyed some free school holiday fun as families flocked to the Tamborine Mountain Sports grounds to bouce their hearts out on three giant inflatable bouncing castles.
TMSA President Mick Angus said the organisation was happy to be involved with the event, which was held by Scenic Rim Regional Council.
“We look forward to hosting more fun and free community events at the Long Road Sports Precinct,” he said.
“As a long time local, I know young families especially are screaming out for more free, family friendly community events like these.
“We would like to thank the council and the Little Athletics club, which is based at TMSA, for helping make this event happen.”
In addition to the inflatables, there were several craft activities supervised by Council staff, including Division One Councillor Amanda Hay.
Many of the children made use of the sports grounds, taking the opportunity to play with friends on the fields, a welcome catch up in the midst of school holidays.
Mr Angus said TMSA will continue to be a home on the mountain for community events, film units and disaster management.
“TMSA hosts a wide range of community events throughout the year,” he said.
“During the storms at the beginning of the year, TMSA quickly became an important hub for Energex and disaster relief more generally.
“We also hosted the Christmas and Easter car bash last year, and we’re looking forward to the third annual car show in August.
“We’ll also continue to play host to the large Hollywood film crews as a unit base, with one currently based at the grounds.”
