HUNDREDS of colourful creations lined the streets of the mountain during the Tamborine Mountain Scarecrow Festival from October 25 to 27.
Among them was Stan Rosenberg’s scarecrow, Agatha Raven, a gothic-inspired figure that drew plenty of attention from passersby.
“I’ve been doing it for a few years now and it’s great seeing all the scarecrows out and about on the mountain,” Mr Rosenberg said.
Festival mascot Hayden the Scarecrow also toured local businesses, with entries ranging from Bluey to K-Pop Demon Hunters.
At the presentation day, held at Cauldron Distillery, organisers encouraged the community to get behind the festival.
Sean Hardy said there were 70 entries this year, 50 last year, but in 2019 there were 180 entries.
“Next year is the 20th year of this festival and we would love to grow the festival next year,” Mr Hardy said.
He asked people to provide feedback via the ‘Contact us’ page of the Tamborine Mountain Scarecrow Festival website.
Cr Amanda Hay praised the organisers and those who had created displays.
“There are some pretty interesting entries – the guy with the speed camera had me worried!” she laughed.
Her advice for those thinking of entering next year?
“Start now for your 2026 scarecrows!”
Additional prizes were awarded for the children’s colouring competition and the poetry competition, which was won by Glen Poole.
