Spotted spurge – Euphorbia maculate, roadside, Eagle Heights.
How typical that a ground cover which turns out to be a weed, caught my attention as I photographed fungi in Central Avenue on the 17th of this month, after those cold, rainy days.
They were growing on or near the tree stump which I photographed last August.
The spurge wasn’t rampant and grew in distinct patches.
It is native to the United States, but has been naturalised in much of the world, including Australia.
I have sent photos of the fungi to the expert, which I hope he will identify.
