Native Mint Bush – Prosanthera sp. – garden Eagle Heights. There are about one hundred species of flowering plants in the genus, which are all endemic to Australia. They grow as shrubs, rarely as trees. Mint bushes are cultivated as ornamentals and for essential oils and spices. They are mainly found in Eastern Australia, including Tasmania, with some populations in Western Australia, South Australia and the Northern Territory. They generally flower from late Winter to January.
