Rresidents braved the wet weather to see what was on offer this year at the Tamborine Mountain University of the Third Age (U3A) open day.

The organisation, which began in France in 1973, has been providing fun, friendship and learning for Tamborine Mountain locals since 2007 and continues to be ever popular.

Mature aged residents and retirees can choose from a huge variety of classes and events including ballet, card games, language classes, bible classes and even a class called We Are Not Alone exploring topics such as life after death and where did we come from.

President Grahame Griffin, who teaches 19th and 20th century novels said there are over 20 courses on offer.

There is a joining fee of $25 and then small cost of around $3 to $5 for each class, with some being free.

Members are welcome to join at any time, and it is a great opportunity to continue exercising the mind and body and meet new people.
