IN September each year gardens come to life across the Scenic Rim bursting with colours and new growth.
As gardeners throughout the Scenic Rim take pride in the rewards of the preparation work they did, some also know their efforts will be appreciated by thousands of others.
These are the select few who open their gardens for the local garden club’s annual Springtime on the Mountain Open Gardens Trail.
The Open Trail has been a feature on Tamborine Mountain now for more than 40 years with just a small break during the Covid shutdown period.
“We brought it back to just a two day event when we resumed after the forced closures and we are pleased to say this year we will be returning to what it was before, and that’s a three day event,” Garden Club spokesperson, Irene Ingold, said.
“In 2025 the trail will be staged on the last weekend in September, from Friday, Sept 26 through to Sunday the 28th.
“We will be featuring six beautiful gardens of which four have never been part of the trail before.
“The owners are now busily preparing to showcase their properties and we will reveal just who and where they are in the coming months.
“In past years the trail has attracted as many as 3000 visitors to the district and we are hoping that given good weather we’ll have a big crowd joining us to enjoy the colors, scents, and tranquility of nature,” she said.
