Your adventure at Belicia begins as you enter through the shaded woodland of tropical birch and spy a hint of the thoughtfully considered colour palette Laurel and Ross Schneider have created over the past eight years.
The purples and reds of clipped azaleas, fuchsias, irises and brunfelsia complement the front of their home.
By integrating a Japanese style garden here, they have successfully camouflaged inground tanks.
Pathways are vital in this garden’s design.
Now they guide you through the Wisteria Walk before revealing the spaciousness of Belicia – it is three and a half acres.
Around the house is intensely planted.
The family’s outdoor living area on the back terrace is wrapped in shades of pink, blue, grey and white and on a summer’s evening, the fragrance of gardenia and Brugmansia linger.
To the side are the fenced vegetable gardens producing most of the family’s green vegetables plus rosellas for jams, cumquats to preserve, self-sown tomatoes, ginger, strawberries and potatoes.
Don’t miss the popular pizza garden where grandchildren pick cherry tomatoes, garlic, chives, basil and oregano.
Nearby are the compost bays, the centre of this garden’s universe.
Fruit and nut trees are planted in the expansive back paddock where you will be welcomed by swathes of warm hues- the yellows, oranges and reds of flowering abutilon, day lilies, kniphofia and alstroemeria.

For the first time ever, you can board the hop on hop off bus to visit Belicia.
On Friday September 25, the Tamborine Mountain Garden Club is trialling this service for one day only as a response to community requests.
Park at either the Showgrounds or the Fortitude Brewing Co.

Buses will be stopping at all six open gardens as well as on Main Street.
