With spring just around the corner, the sound of leather on willow is calling again—and here at the Tamborine Mountain Canungra Bushrats Cricket Club, we’re gearing up for another big season starting this September.

Whether you’re a seasoned player, a backyard superstar, or haven’t picked up a bat in years, the Bushrats welcome everyone with open arms (and a solid front-foot defence). Our club has always been about more than just cricket—it’s about community, mateship, and a good laugh both on and off the field.

We field teams in both social and competitive divisions, so there’s a level for everyone—from young guns looking to develop their skills, to those who enjoy a Saturday arvo knock and a cold drink afterwards. And yes, we’re on the hunt for new players of all ages and abilities, including juniors, seniors, and women looking to give cricket a go.

Training kicks off in late August, and we’ll be hosting some pre-season sessions and social events to help new players feel part of the squad. If you’ve got kids itching to get into sport, our junior programs focus on fun, skill-building, and confidence. For adults, it’s a chance to shake off the winter cobwebs and join a tight-knit local team that knows how to compete—and have a good time doing it.

If you’ve been thinking about dusting off the pads, or you’re new to the area and looking for a way to get involved in the community, this is your chance.

To sign up or find out more, visit our Facebook page or get in touch via email at info@bushratscricket.com. We’d love to see some fresh faces at the nets!

Go the Bushrats—see you on the pitch!
