WALKING sticks, glasses, wigs and shawls were the fashion of the day when St Bernard State School students celebrated 100 days of Prep.
Teacher Rebecca Martin asked her Prep students to dress up as though they were 100 years old, encouraging them to use accessories of their choice.
Students took part in a number of activities – creating portraits of themselves at age 100, having 100 snacks and joining 100 dots to make a picture.
Ms Martin explained her 100 year old portrait and encouraged the students to use their imagination in creating these.
“When I’m 100 I might have white curly hair. I don’t have curly hair now but I think it might be when I’m 100,” she said.
Asked how many grandchildren they will have when they are 100, the students’ responses varied from 5 to 100.
They said when they are 100 they would like to eat brownies, cake and mango, and play chess as well as dancing.
“But you can’t really move that much when you’re 100,” one student quipped.
