Congratulations to WWII veteran local Mr Ian Hart on his 100th birthday – more than just another milestone, it’s a living archive of stories, change and events most of us have only read about.
Schools – a busy time for our four local schools as another year comes to an end.
Congratulations to the Grade 12 graduates from Tamborine Mountain College and Tamborine Mountain State High School, and to those transitioning from primary to secondary in 2026.
It is always a pleasure to attend the school ceremonies and hear the outstanding achievements of those attending our local schools. Well done to students, teachers, support staff, volunteers and parents!
Budget discussions – preparations have commenced for Council’s budget to be handed down next year. There will be opportunities for public engagement early next year, so start thinking about what our Mountain needs to improve the life of, and liveability for, residents.
Springtime on the Mountain 2026 – planning has already commenced. If you know of an outstanding local garden which could be considered for next year’s event, please let the Garden Club know.

MCU25/183 – 9 Young St. Minor change to approval for dwelling house, secondary dwelling, domestic outbuilding and driveway, necessitating the removal of a further 8 trees on the Western boundary.
MCU25/181 – 4-6 Coomera Gorge Dr. Code assessable dwelling house.
MCU25/179 – 10, 9-13 Main Western Rd. Code assessable change of use from commercial class 5 to class 5 pathology.
The Kidd Street and Macdonnell Rd retirement facility applications remain under assessment.

Council closure – Council offices will be closed from 3pm Wednesday December 24 to Monday January 5, 2026. Libraries and the Vonda Youngman Ctr will reopen on Monday January 7.
