A remarkable collaboration between Mountain Mates and Halcyon Woodcraft brought creativity, inclusion, and community spirit together in support of the upcoming Tamborine Mountain State High School musical, Matilda Jr.
Halcyon Woodcraft, the social enterprise arm of Tamborine Mountain Psychology, known for its regular free wellbeing workshops, joined forces with Mountain Mates, a local social group for people with disabilities, to contribute to this exciting community project.
The day was filled with enthusiasm and creative energy as participants worked together to build a series of school desks that will help create the classroom setting for Matilda Jr.
Mountain Mates participants also assisted with making and test-fitting costumes for the production.
Tamborine Mountain State High School drama teacher and Matilda Jr. director, Jo Greig, spent the afternoon providing creative guidance and helping generate excitement for the show.
Mountain Mate Allen, took on the role of workshop manager and led the construction of the desks with great skill and dedication.
The collaboration showcased the creativity and talents of everyone involved while highlighting the importance of inclusion, community participation, and support for our local high school.
By working together, volunteers demonstrated how strong community partnerships can create meaningful opportunities and help bring ambitious projects to life.
