THE Tamborine Mountain Chamber of Commerce (TMCC) is gearing up for an exciting, packed year with a range events set to draw locals and tourists.
The group met at Franquette Bakery for their monthly meeting.
One of the highlights on the mountain’s calendar is the Scarecrow Festival, which the Chamber is considering to moving to the end of October, which would coincide with Halloween and avoid a clash with the Gold Coast Indy 500.
TMCC secretary Jools Bruhn said they’d like to make it a real event, rather than just a scarecrow trail.
“It would be a family-friendly event with live entertainment and food vans,” she said.
Members were also encouraged to get on board for the Tamborine Mountain Arts Trail and host an artist.
The Tamborine Mountain Garden Club also gave a presentation about Springtime on the Mountain, announcing a competition for the best presented business and providing support to help businesses with their gardens.
They also unveiled their beautiful new brochure showcasing activities and businesses on Tamborine Mountain.
Christmas in July was still left undecided, but plans are well underway for a big Christmas event at the end of the year.
