SPIRITS crafted on Tamborine Mountain are now being poured in the heart of Queensland’s political precinct, with Cauldron Distillery added to the drinks list at Queensland’s Parliament House.
Cauldron’s locally produced spirits will be served across parliamentary dining venues, reaching Members of Parliament, visiting dignitaries and guests from interstate and overseas.
Co-founder Darren Stewart said the opportunity came together following conversations with local MP Jon Krause, alongside a broader approach by the Queensland Distillers Association encouraging Parliament House to stock Queensland-made spirits.
“It wasn’t one single conversation. It came together through a couple of avenues at the same time,” Mr Stewart said.
“For us, it was about opening a conversation around Queensland-made spirits and showing what regional producers can offer.”
Mr Stewart said the decision to stock Cauldron products at Parliament House was a proud moment for the team.
“To be selected as part of a Queensland-first list at Parliament House is incredibly meaningful for us,” he said.
“It shows that small, independent producers can stand alongside much larger brands and represent the state.”
Co-founder Greg Dower said the listing went beyond individual recognition and reflected growing support for Queensland-made spirits.
“There’s a real sense of pride in knowing something made here on the mountain is being served to people visiting Queensland from all over Australia and the world,” Mr Dower said.
“It’s a huge vote of confidence, not just in our products, but in Queensland craft distilling more broadly.”
Cauldron Distillery produces a diverse range of small-batch spirits, including gin, agave spirit, vodka, brandy, whisky and liqueurs, with an emphasis on flavour, craftsmanship and a clear sense of place.
Mr Stewart said he hoped the move would encourage greater awareness of locally made spirits.
“If people start asking for Queensland gin or whisky when they go out, that’s a win for the entire industry,” he said.
