TAMBORINE Mountain business leaders reflected on a positive year and looked to the future at the Business Chamber Tamborine Mountain AGM on March 12.
Despite significant impacts caused by Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred, the event went ahead at Eagle Heights Hotel because the venue was powered by a generator.
Local stalwart Judi Minnikin stepped down as Vice President after a stellar decade supporting the Chamber and leading initiatives benefiting businesses across the Mountain.
Jackie Keys resigned as Treasurer and Krystle Divertie resigned as a Committee Member.
“We wish to thank each of them for their hard work and dedication to the Chamber,” said Chamber Business Admin Anne Hardy.
“Their knowledge, skills, and expertise will definitely be missed. However, a new group of personalities with new attributes will take over these roles.”
Geoff Baldwin continues as President, Dwayne Chanter is now Vice President, Janice Smart is now Treasurer while continuing to manage the Visitor Information Centre and Julia Bruhn is the new Secretary.
Committee members are Jodie Richardson, Susan Capan, Pete Myers, Theresa Poots and Honorary Member David Power and the Chamber has two sub-committees focused on transport and Main Street.
Anne Hardy continues in the role of Business Admin.
Anne said Tim Meehan from Varion presented the end of 2024 financials with nothing outstanding to report, and the Chamber closed the year 2024 with a positive result rebalancing the 2023 deficit to be neutral across the two years.
The committee will consolidate its strategic plan for the year at its first meeting on March 31.
The next member event is at 5.30pm, April 9 at Fortitude Brewing Co with Cr Amanda Hay presenting an update on Gallery Walk and the Chamber making initial plans for the Mountain’s Xmas in July event
