A new way to move arrives in Tamborine Mountain

We all move. We move to work, care for our families, meet responsibilities and keep up with the pace of everyday life.

Yet somewhere along the way, many of us forget to move simply for ourselves.

And when I talk about movement, I don’t mean exercise alone.

I mean those moments when we take a deeper breath, put our phones aside for a while and reconnect with ourselves. That vision became the inspiration behind OM in Movement

Together with my partner, Matt, we imagined a studio where movement would be just the beginning of the experience.

From the very beginning, we set out to create a space that feels calm, welcoming and thoughtfully designed in every detail.

A place where people feel at ease from the moment they walk through the door, where every visit brings a sense of calm, connection and belonging.

We also knew we wanted to create something that reflected the spirit of Tamborine Mountain.

Its breathtaking natural surroundings, slower pace of life and, above all, its strong sense of community inspired us to build a space where people could come together, connect and feel part of something meaningful.

That is why we chose the tagline “The Club of Modern Movement.” To us, it isn’t about exclusivity. Quite the opposite. It represents a place where people of all ages, backgrounds and experience levels feel they truly belong. A place where everyone is welcome, where movement brings people together and where wellbeing grows through genuine human connection.

That philosophy has shaped every decision we’ve made while creating OM in Movement.

We want people to begin feeling better from the moment they walk through our doors.

A place where they can slow down, leave the outside world behind for a while and set aside 45 minutes entirely for themselves.

Where they feel welcomed, supported and free to move at their own pace, without pressure or comparison.

We believe lasting wellbeing is built through small, consistent habits that become part of everyday life. Moments of movement shared with others that, over time, help us live healthier, more balanced and more fulfilling lives.

At OM in Movement, we bring together Reformer Pilates, Mat Pilates, Yoga, Stretch and other mindful movement practices, all designed to be welcoming and accessible for people of all ages, abilities and experience levels. Our classes are intentionally kept small, allowing us to provide genuine personal attention and support each individual on their own journey.

We also believe that moving together is easier than moving alone. Research continues to show that healthy habits are easier to build and maintain when we feel connected to a community. Sharing a class, recognising familiar faces and feeling that we belong transforms movement from another item on our to-do list into something we genuinely look forward to.

After many years as a professional dancer, and later teaching different movement disciplines, I realised that people rarely remember only a class. What stays with them is how a place made them feel. That lesson became one of the foundations of OM in Movement. Because we believe movement has the power to do far more than strengthen the body. It brings people together. It creates community. And sometimes, it helps us feel a little more at home.

We look forward to welcoming you to OM in Movement and sharing this journey with you.
