Japan
JAPAN is definitely the hot destination at the moment.
With this in mind we are delighted that our travel partner Inside Japan is coming to the mountain to tell our clients about the destination and how best to explore it.
Whether you would like to join a small group departure or would prefer to explore independently, Inside Japan are an authority on the way to explore this wonderful destination.
I was lucky to travel with them last November to experience the autumn colours, guided by wonderful local guides who gave us an incredible insight into Japanese culture and their way of life.
Spending a few days in Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka, I felt comfortable navigating the metro system and wandering around, however I soon realised that not too many people speak English and most signs are in Japanese characters which I can’t read.
The benefit of a small group trip was evident – not only could someone explain where we were and take us to the interesting places, they could also interpret for us.
We interacted with locals and felt a connection to the area.
Our guides also gave us excellent advice and took us to authentic areas a little off the well-worn track.
This is the benefit of excellent guides – they are ahead of the pack when it comes to fascinating places to explore, and they love sharing their knowledge.
Abercrombie & Kent
A few years ago, Abercrombie & Kent purchased the two flag ships of Crystal Cruises and they underwent a complete refurbishment, knocking two small cabins into a spacious suite and updating all of the interior décor.
These are now lovely ships with Serenity a maximum 740 and Symphony a maximum 606 guests on board.
These boutique ships offer a sense of space and elegance for passengers.
They are all inclusive except for shore excursions. I was lucky to sail on Serenity for a few nights and really enjoyed the experience.
These ships sail all of the world’s oceans and are bound to offer a cruise to suit your dreams. Join us to hear more about these wonderful voyages.
Luxury specialist Abercrombie & Kent are also joining us for our in-house event.

They believe that every journey should be extraordinary; every life well travelled.
