Tamborine Mountain is stepping up to the shooting circle for the junior netball Scenic Rim Challenge Carnival on Sunday 31 May.
Hosted by Tamborine Mountain Netball Club, the carnival brings together young athletes from across the Scenic Rim to show off their promising skills with some friendly competition and teamwork.
What started as an opportunity for regional teams to compete outside of the mainstream state competitions, has grown into a highly anticipated day for the region.
The carnival is hosting its twelfth year now, celebrating the importance of community driven sport clubs.
For many players, the challenge is their first experience competing in a tournament style competition, a big step for young players that builds confidence, sportsmanship and skill.
The tournament will attract players from ages seven to 17, with 30 teams from Tamborine Mountain, Boonah (Fassifern), Beaudesert and Beechmont expected to compete.
Tamborine Mountain Netball Club are the reigning champions as the overall winning club in 2025 and are ready to defend their title for a second year in a row.
With hosting each year rotated between Tamborine Mountain, Beaudesert and Fassifern, it is time to invite everyone up the mountain to experience the off-court festivities and support the players.
The Tamborine Mountain Netball Club will host a classic BBQ and cake stall, all generously provided by the dedicated volunteers and families of the club.
Club president Michael Taylor shared the organisation will be raising money for the club to ensure sufficient upkeep for its operations and court maintenance.
As the club is run entirely by volunteers, financial support from the local community guarantees these young players continue to advance their athletic skill and drive in regional sports.
The tournament is a great way for the community to embrace the mountain’s competitive spirit while supporting local and upcoming talent.
