The 2024/2025 season is well and truly underway for the Tamborine Mountain Canungra Bushrats! Our senior mens sides are off to an absolute flyer with the Premier Division 3 side sitting on top of the ladder heading into the weekend after 7 rounds and the Community Division side sitting tied for 4th.
The Bushrats are incredibly proud to host our women’s side who have been outstanding in the first two rounds of the year and are looking to accumulate many more runs and wickets over the coming weeks heading into finals.
The two Over 40s sides have also started off strongly and sit 1st (Div 3) and 2nd (Div 2) on the ladder. These teams are consistently competitive and have stuck strong over many years so it’s awesome to see them still at it.
The club recently hosted the first international cricket game on Tamborine Mountain with Australia playing England in the Blind Ashes and coming out on top. There was a considerable amount of work completed to prepare the ground for the match up and for that a huge thanks has to go to Cole Fletcher who worked tirelessly to prepare our pitch for the game. The match was incredible to watch; it was genuinely astounding the skill level of these players who are significantly impacted by their sight.
We are always on the look out for cricketers on the mountain who would like to come and play so if you are interested please contact the club at tamborinemountaincricket@gmail.com
