The Australian Federal Government funds TMCCA’s diverse aged-care services, via the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP).
These are first-level support services that assist Tamborine Mountain’s senior residents to live independently in their own homes for as long as practicably possible.
TMCCA relies on a team of volunteers (besides staff), who provide assistance for seniors needing a hand with some daily drives e.g. to and from medical appointments / grocery shopping, etc.
Our volunteer drivers are caring, charming and undeniably competent.
Transport Services are essentially of two types:
BUS (Group)
The 10-seater bus (for shopping on Tuesdays), runs to three destinations on the Gold Coast: rotationally to Runaway Bay, Burleigh, Helensvale.
Clients receive a door-to-door, return-trip transport service, for a modest transport fee of $15. TMCCA’s bus driver William James is a staff member and an experienced bus driver.
The bus also runs to Bunnings every second Monday of the month.
The bus also runs locally as the Thursday Shopping Bus, with main destinations being the IGA, Post Office/Library. The fee is $10.

VOLUNTEER DRIVERS (Individual)
TMCCA volunteer drivers are available to drive clients (who do not drive), to attend their medical appointments, locally or off the hill, for subsidised fee (variable, destination -dependent).
Volunteer drivers use their own vehicles and are reimbursed for fuel/running costs in line with ATO guidelines. Their vehicles are registered, roadworthy and insured.
Needless to say, all volunteer drivers possess a valid driver’s licence and are seasoned drivers, with active listening skills and a terrific sense of humour.
Any local, senior wishing to avail of these transport services, can become a client of TMCCA.
