On Friday, December 12, the Tamborine Mountain RSL Sub Branch held a small party for Ian Hart and Allan Rosser, our two centenarians.
It had to be delayed because a number of organisations on and off the Mountain wished to celebrate with these two ‘boys’.
Members and families of the local RSL Sub Branch and close family members joined us at Club Tamborine (bowls club) for a very happy morning tea.
Scenic Rim Mayor, Tom Sharp, also joined us and told me he was fascinated by the stories of military service and later life achievements from both Ian and Allan.
Considering the amount of celebrating that had already taken place for both men with family and organisational gatherings they were both looking pretty chipper.
Apart from the great morning tea provided by Club Tamborine the RSL provided an individual birthday cake each, both made by Alex and Hugh at the North Tamborine bakery.
The chocolate mousse cake was everybody’s favourite.
Congratulations Ian and Allan. We look forward to catching up with you during the year at various RSL events.
