Dovida’s ‘Energise and Socialise’ program has expanded from Beaudesert to Tamborine Mountain, bringing its blend of movement and connection to a new community.
The free program combines tailored exercise with a social element, helping to engage and support seniors experiencing social isolation across the Scenic Rim.
Participants were all smiles on March 26 as they took part in a range of low-impact activities designed to suit all fitness levels.
After the session, guests unwound over morning tea, enjoying good company and informative talks.
Guest speaker Natasha Schuba shared practical advice on avoiding scams and protecting personal information online.
Caregiver Jodie Zeller said the program plays a vital role in keeping seniors both physically active and socially connected.
“The secret is that you’ve got to keep moving and keep the mind active,” she added.
The first six-week block, which began on February 26, attracted more than 20 participants.
Some regulars from Beaudesert have even made the trip to Tamborine Mountain to take part.
“The hardest part is getting somebody in the door, but once they’re here, they tend to really enjoy it,” Jodie said.
‘Exercise and Socialise’ runs on Thursdays from 10.30am to 12.30pm at the Tamborine Mountain Presbyterian Church.
