The Probus Club of Mount Tamborine enjoyed a presentation from Ryan Gittoes on his life his passions and his development of the Music Video Performing Centre he has created at what was Scruffy Marine Shed … now turned into the remarkable 150SM studio stage film set called the The Knoll Studio next door to the VYCC.
Ryan gave us an enjoyable recollection of his life growing up in close to poverty in western Sydney, his schooling and his apprenticeship as a plumber before finding music and through that himself and what he wanted to do for others.
His focus today continues that ambition of helping folk bent towards a musical future, film editing, stage lighting, video development, play writing, singing to meet their own goals of achievement.
In addition, he has created an environment in that theatre where its potential can help young people find themselves especially those living with permanent disability and perhaps hiding from society.
In all these efforts of selflessness he has built a studio that creates enjoyment of listening to local and visiting artists in a close personal way that makes you feel part of their journey.
As his studio becomes a greater valued part of this mountain’s attraction we need to support him, his ambitions for others and all performing artists.
We thanked Ryan for his warm, funny and sad recollections and for allowing Probus to see part of what he is creating.
