TAMBORINE Mountain’s Wolves basketball teams are heading into a busy and exciting end to the season, with five junior teams qualifying for finals in the Northern Gold Coast Basketball competition.
Among the top performers, the Under 18.1 Boys team secured third place in their division and claimed a hard-fought 47–42 semi-final victory over the Pelicans.
Their counterparts in the Under 18.2 division had a standout season, finishing top of the ladder and defeating the Hurricanes 38–35 in their semi-final clash.
Joining them in finals contention this September are the Wolves’ Under 10 Mixed team, Under 14 Boys 2, and Under 14 Girls – all of whom finished strong in their respective divisions.
Looking ahead, the new summer season is set to tip off after the September school holidays, and the Wolves are welcoming both new and returning players to register their interest via registrations@wolvesbasketball.com.au
In other news, social basketball scrimmage nights have returned to the mountain.
Held at the Vonda Youngman Community Centre on Friday nights, the sessions are open to all ages and skill levels.
The first night was a success with enthusiastic participation across age groups.
