Discover the creative heart of Tamborine Mountain

Bec Andersen - Rugmaker

THIS Labour Day Long Weekend, Saturday, May 3 to Monday, May 5, 2025, visitors are invited to embark on an immersive journey through the vibrant arts scene of Tamborine Mountain.

The Tamborine Mountain Arts Trail offers a rare opportunity to engage with artists in their studios, experience dynamic exhibitions, and explore a region rich in creativity and natural beauty.

With over 20 open artist studios, four central art hubs, and more than 100 participating artists, this free, self-guided event highlights the incredible depth of artistic talent in the Scenic Rim.

A Weekend of Art and Inspiration

Open Artist Studios and Art Hubs: Step inside the creative spaces of painters, sculptors, ceramicists, textile artists, and printmakers. Meet the makers, hear their stories, and see firsthand how their work comes to life.

Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition: Large-scale and site-specific sculptures set against the stunning natural backdrop of Tamborine Mountain, creating a striking fusion of art and landscape.

5° Cooler Exhibition: A curated collection of works that capture the unique essence of the mountain’s environment, lifestyle, and artistic spirit.

Regional Arts Students Showcase: A celebration of emerging talent, featuring the next generation of artists from across the Scenic Rim.

Live Performances: A dynamic mix of music and performance, from concerts to a lively exchange of Shakespearean insults.

From contemporary paintings to handcrafted ceramics, this event offers a rare chance to experience the creative pulse of the region in an intimate and engaging way.

Art lovers, collectors, and explorers can tailor their journey through the trail, visiting studios, galleries, and exhibition spaces at their own pace.

This year’s Arts Trail offers a fresh perspective with curated themed pathways that lead visitors on a journey of ideas and experiences, rather than simply grouping artists by medium.

These unique routes invite exploration through different creative lenses – immerse yourself in the beauty of the natural world on Nature Immersion, uncover the unexpected on Curiousier & Curiouser, explore sustainable style and connection on Eco Fashionata & Socialites, or follow the Pathway to Take You Home for a journey of personal reflection.

This approach transforms the Arts Trail into more than just an exhibition; it becomes an immersive adventure through art, place, and story.

“The Arts Trail isn’t just about seeing art—it’s about connecting with the people and places that make it,” says Renée Martin, event organiser.

“It’s an opportunity to slow down, meet the artists, and experience the mountain in a truly unique way.”
