Wellbeing is a routine

Generally, when you are exuberant about and committed to your ‘health and vitality’ you increase your level of wellbeing, but you already know this.

Any gentle physical exercise of your choice – engaging mindfulness and with some social interaction – is a comprehensive ‘wellness routine’ worth pursuing.

Focus on your wellbeing routine

Meal plans and grocery shopping: A well- balanced, weekly meal plan, makes the shopping and cooking ‘a piece of cake’.

You have already thought the ingredients and meals through, now all it takes is following it. The plan can be reused another week.

TMCCA clients (duly assessed Individual Social Support service) may request our individual support for grocery shopping. Remember the option of Friday Meals on Wheels deliveries.

Celebrate the sun safely:  Early morning sunshine, is excellent for you.

Spring is in the air and this is a great time to step outside, breathe in our fresh mountain air, soak in the sun and nature – a good way to engage your senses; add to that some gentle flexes and perhaps, hum a tune!

Get those lovely vocal cords vibrating along to the vernal birdsong.

Exercise your sense of smell:  Boost your sense of smell.

Smell different perfumes/bouquets (such as cinnamon, cloves, rose, lemon, lavender, peppermint and eucalyptus) daily for several weeks. Some of these can be great mood stabilisers.

TMCCA clients can visit our backyard and enjoying breathing in the essence of the Rosemary, Thyme, Native mint fragrances.

Physical, social and sweet treats:  Breathing consciously while walking, stretching is a simple way to unite the body- mind-energy into a holistic human being.

Other movements like gentle exercises, Tai Chi, chair yoga are some options to stay active and vibrant.

When moving and exercising within a group, the social synergy enhances the experience of wellbeing.

TMCCA hosts a variety of social support groups that include activities viz. table tennis, chair yoga, light movement games, tai chi, song and dance and heaps of fun cognitive games interspersed with cups of tea / coffee, friendships and other sweet treats.

Add to this bag of Wellness activities, the local Thursday shuttle bus, the Tuesday coast bus and a very special monthly outing bus!
