The Mountain Mates celebrated Christmas 2025 at Zamia Theatre with all the Mates, their support workers and family members.
It was a wonderful night with a special performance of The Greatest Talent that went a little bit wrong.
Directed by Caitlin Yaeger-Dwyer and supported by actors from Tamborine and Little Theatre and crew, the weeks of preparation resulted in a magnificent performance.
Local musicians Rusty Smith, Dane Sharp, Doug Thomas and Lady Vee also made guest appearances.
The beautiful Bella A’Cappella sang Christmas songs.
Santa and his helper came with gifts, after which the Mates were led by their own D J Keegan Jones in dancing.
This was not the final get together for the Mountain Mates, a Tamborine Mountain Lions Club project.
There was also a day of making creative ornaments for Christmas facilitated by Nev Jones of Halcyon Woodcraft in his well equipped shed.
Participants were well fed, with barbecue cooked by Lizzie and trifle made by Maddie.
Lizzie and Maddie are Nev’s daughters, who are doing the Duke of Edinburgh award, and volunteering with Mountain Mates to achieve their goals.
Mountain Mates activities will resume in February 2026.
