The guest speaker for the November meeting was Leeton Lee, who lives with his growing family on the mountain.

A very knowledgeable man, Leeton shared with us some of the work he has been doing over the last 11 years.

His current focus is on helping landholders, local governments, traditional custodians, and others better understand the many benefits to the land and environment of using controlled burning, something the indigenous people of Australia, (and North America) have been doing for thousands of years.

Knowledge handed down through the generations.

Thankfully this tradition has been revived by people like Leeton, which in time will reduce the numbers of devastating wildfires in the future.

His talk was very informative and educational, and helped our members have a better understanding of the complexity of the process.

Leeton is also a very talented artist, as you can see by the large mural at the entrance to the VYCC.

We are very grateful for his time and effort to make this presentation to our members as he is very busy working to improve our country through education.

Thanks Leeton, and thanks to John Heydon for getting him there.

If any guys out there feel they have something to share with our members, or would like to be part of our very vibrant club, please contact our guest speaker co-ordinator Barry Chick 0418 876 191
