It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas for Tamborine Mountain Dance Academy (TMDA) students as they put the finishing touches on their end-of-year concert.
Entitled Christmas Spectacular, this exciting event will showcase the talent, dedication and learning of TMDA’s tiny tots and seasoned seniors alike, promising to provide an afternoon of festive fun for the whole family.
TMDA principal and artistic director, Poppy-Jane Todd, says that the event will be a cumulation of a year of exceptional hard work and growth for all the dancers.
“Our students have worked tirelessly to make this concert extraordinary,” she said.
“They’ve grown so much as performers and as young people, and their passion for their craft is contagious. I can’t wait for our community to witness the magic they have created on stage.”
Not only has each dancer worked diligently to perfect their pointed toes and pliés in preparation for the big show on the 14th of December, but collectively, this concert marks the end of a year of immense growth for TMDA. The school has seen a doubling in student numbers as well as incredible success at dance eisteddfods and in examinations.
Senior student, Eden Warwick, marks the excitement amongst the dancers to showcase their hard work and improvement. “This concert is a celebration of everything we’ve achieved in 2024,” she said.
“I am so proud to be a part of such a vibrant, supportive, and uplifting community at TMDA.”
The show promises an enchanting mix of dance styles, music, and storytelling inspired by the whimsical magic of the holiday season. But that’s not all—Christmas Spectacular is an event for the whole family to enjoy.
The Masala Shanti Food Truck will be serving up mouth-watering curry bowls and samosas, and St. Bernard’s State School P&C will be running a bar to keep the holiday spirits flowing.
