Grapes of Mirth will be bringing their sun-soaked comedy and wine festival to the Cauldron Distillery, Tamborine Mountain on November 10.
The festival will be bringing comedians, Tommy Little, Mel Buttle, Rhys Nicholson, Pete Helliar, Urvi Majumdar, and founder, Merrick Watts, will be MCing proceedings.
“The line-up changes everywhere we go, and the line-up we’ve got coming to Tamborine Mountain is insane. It’s one of the best we’ve ever put together so that’s going to be pretty special,” Rowan Smith, festival director and creative producer, explained.
This will be the first time that the festival has visited South-East Queensland.
“It’s an event we’ve done all around country, in every state and territory, but we’ve never done it in South-East Queensland until now so we’re very excited to be coming there for the first time,” he said.
Since it was founded in 2017, the festival has been fine-tuned to ensure a unique afternoon of comedy and wine for attendees.
“We’ve got a model now that we’ve perfected over the years, so we’ve got six of Australia’s absolute best comedians, and our resident DJ Pedro Moshman who we fly up from Adelaide, will get everyone dancing at the end of the day for a good boogie,” he said.
“All the comedians do a 20 minute set, and it’s a little bit more intimate than a usual comedy gig. They’ll come out and hang out in the crowd and come out for a dance at the end of the night.”
Festival-goers can also expect a top-quality selection of local wines to enjoy.
“We’re also going to bring in a bunch of really great Queensland wineries, so we are working on that at the moment to get an incredible wine list together,” he said.
With the festival likely to sell out, he has encouraged people to get their tickets soon.
“We are 60 per cent sold out, and with the current way it’s selling, it will be sold out six weeks before the event which is an exciting thing, but certainly get a move on if you’re thinking about buying tickets,” he laughed.
