THE main connecting road between Tamborine Mountain and Canungra reopened on Wednesday April 16 to the delight of commuters.
The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) said on Tamborine Mountain Road (the Goat Track) approximately 1.6 kilometres from the intersection of Beaudesert–Nerang Road, the newly constructed side track opened to a single traffic lane for light vehicles (gross vehicle mass of up to 4.5 tonnes).
The side track will remain in place while permanent repairs are undertaken.
This lane will operate under stop/slow traffic signal control with a reduced speed limit of 20 km/h. These traffic conditions will be in place 24/7.
Road users can expect delays and should allow extra travel time.
