Registered addresses of landowners – following the closure of the Eagle Heights Post Office, Council has not received updated contact addresses for all ratepayers who utilised a now closed PO box address.
Whilst several owners appear to have lodged a mail redirection with Australia Post, this information does not flow on to Council.
Owners are required to provide Council with a current contact address.
MCU24/025 30 Kidd St development application – following several extensions of time, a response to Council’s information request issued May 3, 2024 was due on 15 May 2025. At the time of writing (May 17), I have not seen the response.
My position on recording dismissed/NFA OIA complaints can be seen first-hand in the Ordinary meeting recording which can be viewed at Scenic Rim Regional Council Ordinary Meeting 30 April 2025 – YouTubecommencing at the one hour 18 minute mark.
Clearly, I have been attempting to have the content of the Complaints Register changed for at least 12 months.
My most recent dismissed complaint related to my alleged failure to declare a conflict of interest arising from a helicopter ride following the tornado.
The Office of the Independent Assessor found that, if anything, I had over-declared rather than under-declared any potential conflict.
As my declarations can be viewed on the recordings of each meeting, the person who lodged this one had to have known their complaint had no basis, but let’s waste more time and money.
Budget discussions continue.
Several submitters will be invited to provide a short presentation of their proposals and suggestions to Council. I will be presenting Sophie Newman’s petition regarding Integrated Multipurpose Pathways on Tamborine Mountain to Council at the Ordinary meeting on May 28, 2025.

Current P&E Court appeal – Eastern Asia Investment Pty Ltd -v- SRRC (36 Young St), filed on Feb 27 2024.
Following eight reviews and with little progress made, Judge Williamson KC made a Guillotine Order against the appellant/developer on May 13 2025. This is a rarely utilised Order which is a means to bring stagnant matters to an end, most commonly in situations involving time-wasting applicants causing unnecessary delay.
This Order arose as a result of representations made by the co-respondents by Election to the Judge.
In the event that the appellant fails to comply with the Order, the matter will proceed directly to a hearing.
This will be decided at the next review on July 14.
